This new Maps search feature is launching in France, Germany, Japan, the U.K., and the U.S. this week, with plans for further expansion. It offers better-organized search results for nearby activities and places.

For example, in Tokyo, searching “things to do” will provide suggestions like “anime,” “cherry blossoms,” or “art exhibitions.” You can then navigate or save these suggestions. This global update for Android and iOS will be available in the coming weeks, helping you discover activities and dining options.

Google is enhancing the Maps navigation interface to provide more accurate surroundings. This includes realistic buildings for better orientation in city driving and improved lane details on highways for easier lane changes. These updates will be introduced in 12 countries, such as the U.S., Canada, France, and Germany, over the next few months.

In the U.S., drivers will soon have information on HOV lanes, while in Europe, AI-powered speed limit data will expand to 20 countries. These features will become available on Android, iOS, and cars with Google Built-in in the coming months.
